baile folklorico, nica style
One of the students who participated in a Mother´s Day program I attended last week in Poseltega, which is about 45 minutes north of Leon.

Glad to know they are still teaching the girls the baile folklorico. One of the saddest things I saw in San Antonio these past ten years was, the young girls all wanted to dance like Selena or J-Lo...at the annual Battle of Flowers parade, it used to be you had several troupes of folkloric dancers. The last year I went, about four years ago, the baile folklorico was nowhere to be seen, and you had a bunch of 8 year olds in spandex. I guess culture moves on; I'm not saying they don't have a right to express themselves that way, but it was saddening
